
EACEA Cluster Meeting on Media Literacy 2024
On November 7, 2024, the EACEA Cluster Meeting on Media Literacy took place in Brussels. The purpose of the meeting is to consider current issues of media literacy in modern society, discuss policies, and research, as well as exchange experience, and search for new approaches in the field of media education.
EACEA Director Sophie BEERNAERTS, representatives of the European Commission - Alberto RABBACHIN (DG CNECT) and Francesca MALTAURO (DG EAC), as well as the acting Head of the EACEA Unit Matteo SOLARO spoke with welcoming words.

During the first panel discussion, in particular, the experience of implementing the project "European Practices in Media Education" (101085162 - EUPinMEd ERASMUS-JMO-2022-MODULE), which has been running for the third year at the Donbas State Pedagogical University, was presented.
In the afternoon, workshops were held, during which the participants developed separate recommendations in the field of regulatory provisions, educational approaches, cross-sectoral collaboration, and support in the implementation of projects, and outlined urgent challenges in media education and the development of media literacy.

At the end, the participants summed up, and discussed synergies between initiatives, recommendations, and conclusions of the meeting. This event became a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among experts and researchers, as well as an important step towards the development of media literacy and critical thinking in various areas of European society.
