The Second Summer School for Art Teachers of General Secondary Education Institutions "Integration of Media Education in Art Lessons" is gathering participants

The organizer of the event was the Donbas State Pedagogical University, in particular the Department of Theory and Practice of Primary Education. The summer school took place in an online format and brought together teachers of secondary schools, teachers of out-of-school and alternative education institutions, as well as everyone interested in the topic. During three days, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in media literacy, audiovisual culture, and the development of critical thinking in the conditions of modern visual media reality.

Within the framework of the Summer School, the following topical topics were considered:

Media education and media literacy: educational categories and the challenge of time
Information, visual and audiovisual arts, copies, and forgeries in art
Facts and judgments, artwork and advertising, propaganda, interpretation of works of art
New Media and art

Each topic included a mini-lecture, practical exercises, and work with online resources. Participants gained valuable skills in critical analysis of ratings of works of art, awareness of the psychological impact of audiovisual arts, distinguishing advertising from works of art, and much more.
