
Master's Students Successfully Complete "EU Media Education Studies" Course
Master's degree students specializing in 013 "Primary Education" (third cohort) have completed the interdisciplinary course "EU Media Education Studies."
The course was implemented within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module project "EU Practices in Media Education" (101085162 – EUPinMEd – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH). The program is aimed at preparing future primary school teachers to develop media literacy among the younger generation of Ukrainians based on best practices from European countries in media education.
Throughout the course, students gained understanding of the theoretical and legislative foundations of European media education, awareness of the role of media literacy and network communication in the digital age, practical skills in organizing media education activities in primary school, and knowledge about European principles of using, evaluating, and creating media tools for education.
Based on the results of a survey conducted regarding satisfaction levels with the course quality among students from three years of course implementation, high ratings were obtained:
- Overall course rating – 4.7/5.0
- Teaching quality – 4.8/5.0
- Content relevance – 4.9/5.0
- Practical value – 4.6/5.0
- Percentage of students who would recommend the course to colleagues – 94%

The successful completion of the third cohort confirms the high demand for the course among future educators. Thanks to the competencies acquired, graduates become more competitive in the educational job market, ready to implement European standards of media education in Ukrainian schools.
Going forward, the "EU Media Education Studies" course will be offered as an elective discipline of broad choice for students of all specialties at DSPU, which will ensure the sustainability of the results of the Jean Monnet Module project "EU Practices in Media Education" (101085162 – EUPinMEd – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
