The Second Summer School for art teachers of general secondary education institutions "Integration of Media Education in Art Lessons"

We invite teachers of secondary schools, teachers of out-of-school and alternative education institutions, as well as everyone willing to participate in the Summer School for art teachers of general secondary education institutions "Integration of Media Education in Art Lessons", which will take place on June 3-5, 2024.
Information about the event
The organizer of the summer school is the Donbas State Pedagogical University, Department of Theory and Practice of Primary Education.
Each summer school participant will receive a certificate indicating the number of study hours (12 hours).
The working language of the event: Ukrainian.
Form of participation: online.
Online meetings start at 10:00 a.m
 
The purpose of Summer School is the formation of media literacy, audiovisual culture of teachers of the educational field of "Art" and the development of critical thinking, and analytical perception of information (media text) in the conditions of modern visual media reality.
 
Subject:
 Media education and media literacy: educational categories and the challenge of time.
 Information. Visual and audiovisual arts. Copies and forgeries in art.
 Facts and judgments. Artwork and advertising. Propaganda. Interpretation of works of art.
 New Media and Art. Each topic contains a mini-lecture, practical exercises, and work with online resources.
 
Skills that teachers will acquire during the Summer School:
1. Awareness of the concepts of "copyright", "intellectual property"; understanding the essence of the concepts "copy", "forgery", "image based on motives", "reproduction".
2. Skills of critical analysis of rating lists of works of art, and possible manipulations.
3. Awareness of the psychological impact of the works of audio and visual arts, the enhanced impact of cinematography and media through the combination of music and images.
4. Skills of critical thinking, searching for information on the Internet, checking images, and the ability to distinguish between advertising and works of art.
5. Awareness of the specifics of New Media and their features (interactivity, multimedia, hypertextity, openness, etc.).
