On the 31st of January 2023, the teaching of the course “Intercultural Communication Studies” started within the implementation of Jean Monnet Project “Ukraine – EU: Intercultural Communication in Education”.
The lecturer is Olena Beskorsa, Doctor of Sciences in Pedagogy, Professor of the Department of Primary Education Theory and Practice at SHEI “Donbas State Pedagogical University”. 40 master students of speciality 013 Primary Education are enrolled in the course. The main objectives of studying the course are: to gain the knowledge about cultural diversity and its impact on the interaction between representatives of different cultures in all the life spheres, to develop skills to choose the strategies of intercultural communication in multicultural environment.
During the first lecture “Basic Issues of Intercultural Communication in European Society, the following topics were discussed: European integration processes in Ukraine, policy-related documents on the intercultural communication, the notion of “culture” in intercultural communication theory.
